My name is Nibwene, which means ‘I have seen myself’ in Nyakyusa language (I can’t speak this though). I’m from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and I currently live in Berlin, Germany. I started this blog when I was in high school in 2014. Topics here are random and I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy writing.
I also write on Substack – there I focus on African socio-cultural topics and a bit of history.
I organize a monthly offline book club in Berlin, focused on African literature.
In my professional life (2019-?), I worked in the climate and (clean) energy sector. I have a master’s degree from the Hertie School (Berlin) and a bachelor’s degree from Jacobs University Bremen (Bremen).

And I love quotes, as you’ll notice while reading this blog.
